How to Rip DVD to HTC One X

HTC One X Review

The good: The futuristically-styled $199.99 HTC One X offers Android fans on AT&T plenty to like, such as a massive, bright 4.7-inch screen, blazing 4G LTE data speeds, a powerful camera, and zippy performance running Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4.
The bad: Sadly, HTC One X owners can't claim quad-core bragging rights. Also, the nonremovable battery and lack of SD card slot weaken an otherwise incredible Android smartphone.
The bottom line: Quad-core processing isn't everything, and AT&T's new $199.99 HTC One X proves it. This advanced Android has style, speed, blazing 4G, and power galore.

How to Rip DVD to HTC One Mini

HTC One Mini Review

The good: HTC's One Mini has a striking design, Android 4.2.2, terrific external speakers, and a strong midtier feature set.
The bad: The diet version of the One has 16GB of internal storage with no option to expand, and lacks NFC.
The bottom line: Even with its scaled-down specs, the HTC One Mini is a go-to performer with style to match.

The HTC One Mini has everything it should to bear the chic HTC One name: a gorgeously crafted hardware and software design, with solid performance chops to match.

But don't think that "Mini" means you're simply getting a shrunken HTC One. Instead, this only slightly smaller handset steps back the internals across the board -- in video capture resolution, processing brawn, storage capacity, and extra features like the (absent) IR blaster and NFC. Make no mistake, this Mini is a fantastic midtier, midprice choice with enough stamina, speed, and style to go the distance.

The Mini sells exclusively with AT&T for $100 on contract at the full retail price, half the cost of the original One at its full retail price.

How to Rip DVD to HTC One

HTC One Review

The good: The HTC One flaunts a stunning metal design, a powerful quad-core processor, and a beautiful 4.7-inch, 1080p screen. It runs Android Jelly Bean, takes great pictures, and has a feature-packed camera app.
The bad: The sealed case design means no SD expansion slot or user-replaceable battery. The BlinkFeed software can't be completely removed. The phone isn't yet available on Verizon.
The bottom line: A few quibbles notwithstanding, the powerhouse HTC One is a beautifully crafted, near-ideal smartphone.

As HTC's new flagship smartphone, the HTC One is packed to the rafters with top-notch components and technologies including some of the latest processing gear from Qualcomm. In addition to being state-of-the-art, the successor to 2012's HTC One X is lovingly crafted from premium metals, leaving no doubt that the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has put a considerable amount of blood, sweat, and tears into this handset.

HTC definitely brought its A game, and it needs to to defeat its archrival, the Samsung Galaxy S4. Like all other smartphones though, the One isn't perfect -- it lacks an SD card slot for extra storage expansion as well as a removable battery. The camera isn't quite as revolutionary as advertised. Android purists may not love HTC's Sense UI skin, and the One's nonremovable BlinkFeed news reader isn't particularly welcome.

Quibbles aside, though, the HTC One should be at or near the top of the list for anyone looking for a phone on Sprint, T-Mobile, or AT&T -- where it's going head-to-head with the Galaxy S4. Yes, it's a game of inches between both of those big-screen Android superphones (read our story to see how they stack up, feature for feature). But I can easily say the HTC One is the fastest, most beautiful phone I've ever used, and it will sway anyone looking for a worthy alternative to the Samsung GS4.

How to Rip DVD to Samsung Galaxy Express

Samsung Galaxy Express Review

The good:The Samsung Galaxy Express runs on 4G LTE, has good call quality, and a decent 5-megapixel camera.
The bad:The Galaxy Express is preloaded with too much bloatware and its screen has a bluish hue at certain angles.
The bottom line:With its reasonable $100 price tag, AT&T's Galaxy Express' solid performance and respectable specs are a good deal -- but pass it up if you want a more powerful camera.

In short, the Samsung Galaxy Express looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3 but smaller. Though it's not as premium feeling, it has the same long rectangular shape, curved corners, and oval home button.

The device measures 5.22 inches tall, 2.73 inches wide, and its thin profile is 0.36 inch. At 4.8 ounces, it's also lightweight. Though it's too tall to fit entirely in small front pockets on jeans, it's comfortable when held in the hand or pinned between the ear and shoulder, and it easily slips into small clutches and bags.

On the left is a volume rocker and up top is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The right houses a sleep/power button and the Micro-USB port for charging is on the bottom. On the back is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and below that in the right corner are two small slits for the audio speaker. The plastic back plate has a glossy smooth finish, which makes it vulnerable to accumulating fingerprints. Using an indentation up top, you can remove the plate to access the 2,000mAh battery and expandable microSD card slot.

How to Rip DVD to Samsung Ativ S Neo

Samsung Ativ S Neo Review

The good:Samsung's Ativ S Neo is an attractive Windows Phone 8 handset with a large screen and more native camera extras than other Windows phones.
The bad:The Ativ S Neo is slow, heavy, and has a weak image quality.
The bottom line:Though it's an unexceptional smartphone overall, the middle-of-the-road Samsung Ativ S Neo is a safe choice for those who shop by price.

Features-wise, the Samsung Ativ S Neo sits in the center of Sprint's lineup, neither the high-end, high-priced smartphone on the premium side of spectrum, not the entry-level smartphone trying to keep it all together. A mass market phone like this occupies an important, if less exciting, place in any carrier's roster. Yet this particular middle-of-the-road performer struggles to justify its $149.99 introductory retail price, particularly when the HTC 8XT comes in at $50 less on contract. (Days after this review originally posted, Sprint lowered the Ativ S Neo to $49.99 on contract. The 8XT is now free with a two-year service agreement.)

True, the S Neo's larger, HD screen and doubled storage (16GB instead of 8GB) explain the price difference. Ultimately, though, both devices bring good-but-not-great internal operating speeds, photography, and features. It doesn't help that Sprint's slow 4G LTE deployment makes downloading apps and uploading photos a drag for anyone still stuck in a 3G-only footprint.

How to Rip DVD to Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Review

The good: Samsung's Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a great price, runs Android 4.2.2, and comes with an 8-megapixel camera and extras like a TV remote.
The bad: The phone's large size makes it unwieldy, and its screen resolution is too low for a phone this big.
The bottom line: Samsung's Galaxy Mega 6.3 is just about your only choice for a jumbo-screen phablet under $200, but those with more flexible budgets should consider a phone with a higher-resolution display.

For a phone that's all screen, you'd expect the enormous 6.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Mega to dazzle. It certainly joins mammoth smartphones like the Galaxy Note 2, LG G2, Huawei Ascend Mate, and Sony Xperia Z Ultra as an option for people who would rather own one large device than a phone and a tablet. However, the Mega's only-720p HD resolution simply doesn't support its vast display.
Absurdly large and not very portable, the Android 4.2 Mega -- for AT&T, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular -- is nevertheless the right size and price for a bridge device; that is, a large smartphone that can also satisfy a tabletlike viewing experience. What's more, the Mega's lower price point ($149.99 with an AT&T contract) makes it a highly affordable option for people who can live with the handset's midgrade specs.
Phablet lovers seeking more productivity features, like a stylus, should hold out for Samsung's more advanced Galaxy Note 3, expected to debut September 4 with double the Mega's price tag.

How to Rip DVD to Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Review

The good: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus marries the power of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS with the speed of Verizon's LTE network. The phone's beautiful screen and internal performance are top-notch.
The bad: The Galaxy Nexus lacks a slot for expandable memory, and the 5-megapixel camera isn't Samsung's best. There's no support for Google Wallet, and several Ice Cream Sandwich features take some getting used to.
The bottom line: As the first U.S. phone with Ice Cream Sandwich, Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus takes a coveted, solitary step forward. However, once other premium handsets receive the updated Android OS, the Galaxy Nexus will lose some of its competitive edge.

When Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S II line for every major carrier except Verizon, we knew something was up. That something is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Verizon's ace-in-the-hole 4G LTE smartphone, and the first of its kind in the U.S. to introduce Google's Android 4.0 operating system, better known as Ice Cream Sandwich.

In the weeks since reviewing the unlocked version of the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich (henceforth known as ICS), we've come to really enjoy both the handset and the OS, and the two of them together.

The Verizon version has erased at least two complaints--its Galaxy Nexus is substantially weightier than the unlocked GSM version and it doubles the internal storage capacity. Yet, no phone is perfect, and the Galaxy Nexus has its flaws. We'll get to those later, but they include camera performance that was less than Samsung is capable of delivering, no expandable memory, a disjointed OS that requires some study, and no support for Google Wallet. On the plus side, LTE speeds are impressive. When you add up the screen, the exciting (but still not totally perfect) ICS operating system, the nice in-hand feel, and the fair cameras, you have one compelling phone that vies with the likes of the Motorola Droid Razr and the HTC Rezound, Verizon's other two killer phones of the season, though you should also consider the drawbacks.
